NOUN MATRICULATES 14 INMATES OF KADUNA CONVICT PRISON Date: 2018/07/04
Fourteen inmates of Kaduna Convict Prison Kaduna State, on Friday were matriculated to study various courses in the National Open University of Nigeria (NOUN).
The event, which took place within the prison premises, was presided over by Dr Aminu Kassim the Representative of the Vice Chancellor of NOUN, Prof. Abdalla Adamu.
He charged the students to pursue their programmes with dedication, warning that award of NOUN degree was based on display of good character and excellence in studies.Dr Aminu called upon the inmates to make the best of this rear opportunity granted to them to obtain degree certificate within the prison, and free of charge.
He assured the fresh undergraduates that all the programmes offered by the university had been accredited by the National Universities Commission (NUC).
The state Controller of prisons Yusuf Garba Abubakar fsi mni thanked the officials of NOUN and appreciated the thinking behind setting up such study centre in the prison. He called upon the Students to put in their efforts and make the best of the opportunity.
